Our busiest service, offers residents of the Blue Water area a place to shop for gently used items at a price that everyone can afford.
We received 100% of our donations from the local community, from the beaches to Great Falls.
We accept all household items that are gently used:
winter boots and jackets.
and anything in your house that still works and doesn’t require cleaning or isn’t broken.
We do not accept books, magazines, CDs or VHS cassettes.
Individuals with disabilities should be entitled to live in their communities with their families and friends. They are part of the fabric that makes our communities strong and diverse.
The goals of the program are to ensure that individuals have structured daily activities that are fulfilling for them and meet their needs.
We currently have 9 Clients working with 21 partnerships throughout the community.
We provide fresh fruit, cheese strings, eggs, milk, yogurt bars, granola bars, bread, butter and jam to the students daily.
We provide to over 300 students per day from grades K to 8 as well as many High School students.
Provide daily nutritional food to students in partnership with the Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba and Breakfast Club of Canada.
Mom's Drop-In (Postnatal)
Our postnatal program offers support for new mothers and fathers. Emphasis is on breastfeeding, infant care and development, decreased social isolation, increased links to other resources, and improved health for improved early childhood development. Our Postnatal program runs Bi-Weekly and was very successful.
Participants feel they have a safe, warm and friendly environment that invites them to receive the social and emotional support they may need. The outreach worker makes links to other resources when needed. Visitors feel free to browse the internet, print off government forms, build resumes or search for jobs.

Wings of Power serves to be a leader in our community where all individuals and families feel safe, respected, valued and loved; have the opportunity to experience dignity, pride and equality; and have the opportunity to live healthy and fulfilling lives.
Wings of Power evolved in 1998 from the Agassiz (now Sunrise) School Division’s concerns regarding children attending Powerview School. There were children entering school with very few Kindergarten readiness skills. Some had never been read to, others did not know colors or simple counting skills; some children were coming to school hungry, others came from an environment of little or no parental support with regards to home and school related functions.
We have learned that a key step to building trust and confidence of the community is from the grassroots level. We learned that if the individual, the family and the community are supported, social capital and community capacity are enhanced. We continue to focus on the three pillars that were identified in the beginning, but the programs are driven by the community.
